the blog!

If I had to choose:

I'm Nikki, a Creative living in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Gardens, mounds of books, watercolors, art of any kind, sunset walks with our three yorkies, signs of spring...these are some of the things that bring me joy. Here on this blog, I enjoy writing about the beauty & goodness of life. Grab a hot drink and cozy in to continue reading.

What started as a wedding photography blog in 2012, slowly morphed into writing about traveling, our home, gardening, our darling yorkies, teaching, mental health, and overall snippets of goodness in life. I'm so glad you're here!

Although I don't blog as frequently as I once did, when I was a wedding photographer, this area of the internet is like a second diary for me. It recalls some of my favorite moments in life, filled with photos and details that offer that nostalgic goodness we all know and love.

As you peruse through my writing, I hope you find yourself smiling more than anything. I hope it brings you joy. I hope the beauty of my photographs and art remind you that beauty is everywhere. I hope as you read about my own mental health, that you feel seen, heard, and realize you're not alone. And I hope you read this as if I'm chatting across the table with you, just as a close friend would. Hugs and love to you, dear reader.
