I'm Nikki, a creative old soul who loves tea time, tip-toeing through gardens, mounds of books, swaying to records, watercolors, sunset walks with our three yorkies, and star-gazing with Paul. This blog carries snippets of my life with just us two (five with Rusty, Lucy, & Ethel) - I hope it brings you happiness as you snuggle in with something warm and delicious and begin reading. Enjoy, friends!

If I had to choose:

Birthdays and Giveaways!!

I woke up today singing the birthday song in my head because sooommeeboodddyy turns 29 today!! :) :) The birthday boy got breakfast in bed, complete with a smiley face made out of clementine slices – who doesn’t love a bright smile first thing in the morning?! :) Rusty rolled around all over him while Paul ate his breakfast, propped up in front of squishy pillows still half asleep. And now he is at work, in a world that doesn’t have colorful Happy Birthday banners or sneezing excited puppies or people singing Happy Birthday – poor Paul. But soon he’ll be home and he’ll have more surprises, (he won’t read this while he’s at work so I can tell you) like carrot cake with LOTS of bright colorful candles – his absolute favorite next to Cinnabon, – new Samuel Adams beer glasses, lots of hugs, lots of singing (I can be pretty obnoxious on birthdays, I can’t help it!), more puppy sneezes, and a TWINS GAME!! To be fair, I didn’t get him the Twins tickets, he won them from work. But still!! :) What luck to score them on your birthday! So, here’s hoping the game doesn’t get rained out and the Twins can land a win tonight!

And I thought since this is such a happy day that I would host my FIRST giveaway!!! Don’t get too excited though – it’s nothing extremely fancy or anything. Just something small and simple that will hopefully brighten your day, from me to you. :) All you have to do to enter is comment below! So simple! I’ll announce the winner next week and then you’ll tell me your address and voila! A little token of my appreciation will be sent to your doorstep. :) What is the giveaway you may ask? Well, I shall tell you.

I had the urge awhile ago to print my photos into postcards and sell them at the local gift stores but that is still on my to-do list. So I thought that a set of 4 postcards would be a nice little gift – you can use them as a postcard or just frame them or do whatever you’d like! – plus since it’s spring (yay!!) I thought it would be nice to send some lovely wildflower seeds your way so you can make some little spot in your garden a colorful haven. :) If that sounds like your cup of tea, leave a comment and next week I’ll announce the winner! Have a wonderful Wednesday friends!! xoxo
