Another Valentine’s Day has come and gone, dear friends. And I have to say, this one was pretty sweet.
I know there are a lot of people out there who hate this holiday more than anything in the world, but to me it’s just another day to celebrate! :) And what better way to than by having a party full of sweets, Valentine’s, laughter, little loves, tea, and a whole lot of red?! To me, Valentine’s Day is not just about the red roses and boxes of chocolates (although I do appreciate a good excuse for chocolates) and $5 Hallmark cards; it’s about just spending time with the people I love, celebrating love, and having a lovely time together.
I didn’t just spend the day with my darling Paul; I spent it with two of my little nephews, sister, mom, dad, and of course, Rusty. :) And it was absolutely wonderful! We all had such a great time celebrating something, which to be honest, is absolutely wonderful when stuck in the dreary, monotonous weather of Minnesota winter. We busted out the fine crystal dishes, the pretty tablecloth, all the reds and pinks from our closets. We baked and created pretty dishes. We crafted handmade-filled-with-love Valentine’s Day cards for each other. My daddy taught me how to make bread dough for mine and Paul’s heart-shaped pizza dinner. We hugged, we laughed, and the little loves got lots of lipstick marks from their Auntie NeeNee. :)
Enjoy snippets from our time together this past weekend, friends! And beware – lots of red. :) xoxoxo
Love little Chaser’s face. :) On the right – the Valentine I made for Adam and Chase (front side). :)
I taught Adam that “Olive Juice” looks like “I Love You” when you mouth it, so now we always say “Olive Juice” to each other. My favorite part was when Adam came running in the kitchen with his Valentine for me; we both made cards for each other that said “Olive Juice”!! Too stinkin’ funny!! :) Thanks to my sister for stitching the words for him. :)
Us and our twin Valentines. :)
