I got the “spring cleaning” bug a little early this year and have been a cleaning machine all day. I love the feeling I get when I know I’ve gotten a lot of things checked off of my “To Do List”, don’t you?? In between getting things prepared for tomorrow’s wedding, I’ve been cooking, cleaning, organizing, and now blogging! The biggest thing I’ve been working on in the house is my office. It’s seriously a work in progress. The title of this post is no joke. When we bought this house we decided that the room would be the future baby’s room/piano room/library. For the past nine months it has basically been the junk room. Yes, I still have all my beloved books and my striking Yamaha keyboard (a baby grand piano is on my Life Plan – we don’t have enough room in this house, however), but it has basically been the room that we throw things in that we don’t want seen by people. I’m sure we’re not the only ones that have a “Junk Room” and I’m sure I’m not the only one who can’t sleep at night knowing how much junk is lurking in that room. So, I finally have been starting to organize and de-clutter the “Junk Room” and it feels so good! I’ve been working every day in the living room because my office is clearly not a very comfortable place to work in. It doesn’t feel like my office yet. It will someday and I can’t wait!
I was not brave enough to take photos of the “before” state of the room, so here is the somewhat “before” photos. I have big plans for this room and can’t wait to get in there to paint in the spring. If you think it still looks junky, you’re right. It does. However, I’m not finished. This is a wonderful change to the room that you could barely walk into because of all the JUNK! Stay tuned in the spring for better photos of my little office. :)
I am in love with this clock I just got from Kirklands. Also, the “Mrs. Tran” sign is from my cooperating teacher and her husband for when I was student teaching! How cute is that?? On the right is the first photo taken of Paul and I just days after we started dating. :)
Does the mirror look familiar (in reference to my logo)?? My “Client Workflow” and framed logo is my newest addition to my office! It’s a lot easier seeing where I am with each client when it’s framed on my wall rather than it being buried in my desk somewhere. Having my logo printed and framed on my wall makes it feel more like my office. :)
If I haven’t told you yet, I love Disney. Therefore I like to sprinkle my office with Disney. By the way, I loved Disney Princesses before it became the latest fad.
I love bright, bold colors, which is why I painted that old applesauce jar the beautiful blue. Since my office is still my library it is still littered with my favorite books, such as Christmas and children books. Fun fact: the first place I head to when I go into a book store is the kid section. I have enough books for all 9 of my future kids.
