I'm Nikki, a creative old soul who loves tea time, tip-toeing through gardens, mounds of books, swaying to records, watercolors, sunset walks with our three yorkies, and star-gazing with Paul. This blog carries snippets of my life with just us two (five with Rusty, Lucy, & Ethel) - I hope it brings you happiness as you snuggle in with something warm and delicious and begin reading. So Much NEW! | Updated Website

Hello friends! It’s been a very exciting week around here (both online and in person!) – I turned 26 on Sunday, had an absolutely wonderful birthday weekend thanks to Paul, my family, and my friends (including you!), successfully launched my NEW website FINALLY, and just launched my newest set of Photoshop actions. It’s been busy but absolutely wonderful. It’s always a good feeling when things get done, right?!

My birthday was dreamy. It started with my mom and dad visiting on Saturday, lunch at the lighthouse on the lake and ice-cream down the street. Then I worked. And worked. And finally showed you all my new website!! I can’t thank you all enough for showing me so much support and love this past weekend! I’m so glad you all enjoyed seeing it happen and I’m already seeing positive results from having a legit website/portfolio. Good things take time – sometimes 3 years. :) And friends, I have an actual portfolio of all of my favorite wedding, engagement, and detail images. It’s wonderful. And you know what?? I’m so proud of Paul and I when I look at those photos. Can you believe 3 years ago all I had to show to potential clients was a photo of my nephew, some flowers, and the American Flag?? Again, good things take time. :)

Once the website was launched, it was time to celebrate. It was after 8pm when I finally forced myself to stop checking Facebook and emails, but we had already made plans to have a picnic in the backyard. So I pulled out every glass jar I owned, filled them with tea lights, made sandwiches (salami, pepperoni, roasted bell peppers, mozzarella, parmesan, pesto – YUMMY!), got out the wine, a nice comfy blanket, and out we went under the stars to celebrate the website and my birthday.

On Sunday, Paul surprised me with a trip to the Space Exhibit and Omnitheater at the Science Museum – AMAZING!! If you haven’t gone yet it is well worth the trip, especially the “Hubble” movie; you end up leaving in awe and feeling incredibly insignificant. I loved it and I’m sure you will too. :)

And today is the day my newest set of actions has become available for purchase!! I’m so excited it’s done that I’m offering a 40% DISCOUNT (use the code SPRING40 at checkout) until Sunday, April 19th! Picking names for the actions isn’t always easy, and the title of the whole set is always the hardest for me. I decided to name this new set “Felicity” because every action in the set is something that gives me an immense amount of joy. For example, some of the actions are called “Through the Garden”, “Old Letters”, “Under the Roses”…swooooon. :) So, if you are a photographer friend, definitely check out the new set (especially since they’re on sale!!) – I also have Photoshop tutorials if you’re not sure where to begin. :) There’s also a free action available for download, and beautiful sky overlays for sale! Enjoy, friends!! And don’t forget, the sale ends this coming Sunday!! :) Enjoy!! xoxoxo
