I'm Nikki, a creative old soul who loves tea time, tip-toeing through gardens, mounds of books, swaying to records, watercolors, sunset walks with our three yorkies, and star-gazing with Paul. This blog carries snippets of my life with just us two (five with Rusty, Lucy, & Ethel) - I hope it brings you happiness as you snuggle in with something warm and delicious and begin reading. Enjoy, friends!

Paul’s Graduation & Christmas

Yay!! Christmas is only 2 days away!! I’ve been lucky enough this season to have the time to actually enjoy the preparation for Christmas and all of the lovely things that go with it: baking, decorating, listening to Christmas music, watching favorite Christmas movies, drinking hot cocoa on a regular basis, and strolling through Rice Park under the lights. And now Paul is off work until after the New Year! I am just thrilled!! :) This weekend we spent one of our days in St. Cloud as Paul was recognized for getting his Master of Engineering Management – what an amazing accomplishment! I watched him go through endless hours of homework, coming home stressed, and I am just so proud of him and all that he’s done. :) And now today we spent the day making Pizzelle’s, baking garlic bread for tomorrow’s big dinner at Ma & Dad’s, last minute shopping, and we even got to have an early dinner with one of our wonderful friends. :)

Since it’s the day before Christmas Eve, I thought I would share something that has lots to do with the next couple of days – our house in all of it’s Christmas glory! :) Enjoy and I hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful Christmas!! xoxo

I’ve got to do something about all those darn cords. Also, don’t mind our weird looking antenna…

My little nephew, Adam, made us this ornament. He named it Rusty. :)

Baby Jesus is hiding until his big day. :)

Our stockings are some of my favorite Christmas decorations – Nana knits all of our stockings and Mom sews all of the jewels on them. :)

My sister gave me her “It’s A Wonderful Life” Christmas town. :)

We took some family portraits today…

Honestly, I could stare at the Christmas tree all day.

Our humble abode. :)

 Merry Christmas, friends!! :)
