I'm Nikki, a creative old soul who loves tea time, tip-toeing through gardens, mounds of books, swaying to records, watercolors, sunset walks with our three yorkies, and star-gazing with Paul. This blog carries snippets of my life with just us two (five with Rusty, Lucy, & Ethel) - I hope it brings you happiness as you snuggle in with something warm and delicious and begin reading. Enjoy, friends!

Behind the Scenes | 2014

love doing this post every year! When I’m going through photos after every wedding or engagement, I shove the ones of me and Paul in separate folders and then never really look at them until now. After going through these tonight, I remember how much fun Paul and I have together and with our brides and grooms – we are so lucky to have this job and I am so lucky that I get to work with Paul side-by-side. :)

Although these may not be the most flattering photos of us (and although there are a lot of backside shots – we need to get better at getting more shots of the front of each other), I just love them. It’s another way to document our life together, and like I’ve said many times, these are somewhat of dates for us. :) On the majority of weekends, most couples go out to dinner, a movie, shopping, the lake, etc. Paul and I just get to have our dates a tad differently. :)

So friends, enjoy some snippets of our “dates” from 2014. :) Happy Weekend!! xoxoxo

First time near a firetruck since I was on a field trip in grade school. :)

A lot of these shots are us testing our lighting – it gets pretty monotonous after awhile…

Annnnd we take a lot of photos of each other taking photos…

Sometimes we sneak up on each other. :)

Do you see those gnats??  Omigoodness, they were horrible.

I like him. :)

Mary Poppins, at your service.

Testing the waters. Literally.

Remember Leigha from yesterday’s post?? Here she is at work on a styled shoot this summer. :)

And again. :)

I think the people were amused at us taking photos of each other. Or amused at the fact that I have to stand on a chair to get photos.

Don’t worry – we won’t get in your space bubble or anything. :)

He is just too good-looking.

How to Master the Art of Cake Cutting.

The secret is out.

Can you tell by his face that he isn’t too happy with me for this one? The bridge was flooded so he had to remove his shoes and socks to take photos. Ha!

I don’t remember what we were all laughing at but I’m assuming it was something Jason said – he had me laughing through 98% of their wedding.

Hahaha!! Love you Paul!! It was so cold out and he forgot his hat so he made one with his scarf. :)

Do you see why we laughed so much at their wedding??

Fixing his “hat.”

I’m really funny. I know this.

Sneak attack!

Laughing again…

This was Clayton’s idea, not mine. :)

Poor Paul. I don’t mean to look so annoyed.

I love these two.

Taken by bridesmaid, Amy. :)

What a wonderful year – cannot wait to see what 2015 brings us!! :) Cheers, friends!! xoxo
